I did a bad to good engine swap for my 89 gtu and the new motor i put in started one time and i had to shut it down cause my coolant hose and injector were leaking so i shut it down and it wont start again everytime i try to start it,it tries to start but doesn,t catch completely to actually fully start the motor it shutters like its gonna start then shut down and also i poured alot of oil in the intake when i first put the motor in to build up compression and i think i poured to much so should i push start it to open the chambers and let the oil burn off if anybody has any idea how to fully start this baby hit me up also would a bad 02 sensor cause the car to not start or a bad or malfunctioning tps well somebody help me out please peace.

Probably need to pull & clean/dry the plugs. If push-starting is an option for you, go for it...

Nothing to do with the O2 sensor. It's probably flooded. Push start it. Also, make sure that after you fixed the initial problems, you assembled the upper intake and all the vacuum lines correctly. Check the connector at the AFM.

Also, it is very difficult to read you posts. Consider using proper spelling, punctuation, etc. People respond a lot better when you don't sound like a 9 year old AOL user.

Aaron i have no idea what you mean that you are having a hard time reading his writing because really i seem to think it's pretty easy to read and only people with a low iq wouldn't be able to read what he wrote just for the fact that run on sentences are cool and you know what i think hes discovered a new way of typing and you have no idea what's going on.
-kidding of course-
but now seriously, If you poured oil into the intake manifold that coudl definetly be your problem and i agree that you shoudl pull out your spark plugs and wipe them off with some rags.
Also if you engine studders and sounds like it is going to start and then doesn't try giving it a little gas when you start it, you may have tried that allready but it's just an idea to get it to rev to the point where it will start burning off that excess oil.
Also one more thing, if you can't pushstart it pull out the EGI fuse--located closest to the drivers side wall in the engine bay and crank her over for 5-6times for 10 seconds at a time to evacuate some of that oil out of there. Then replace the fuse and try starting her once again.

Ok its interesting how rotarys are cause i tried to start it again and it almost did but i didn,t catch it.and everytime it doesn,t catch it sounds like it hiccups and realeases fumes from the side of the block off plate.iam going to try the EGI method tomorrow i hope it works and hopefully i can get all that excess oil out and she,ll purr like a smoking kitten but i,ll keep the forum posted.if iam not mistaken it looks like its releasing excess air like a whale but i guess i,ll have to assume the air cant get through the intake cause of all the oil in there.

remove the gas, put in 10%ethyl alcohol 90% 93octane gas mixture in,... clean the plugs, and have good strong battery installed

did you drop the engine yourself?

Take your plugs out and turn the engine over by hand. This will push out the oil in the housings. If you don't want alot of smoke on startup, take the exhaust off first. Just make sure its on before startup, fire hazard.

Check that your plug wires are hooked correctly, easy mistake. If you are getting smoke blowing out of your block off plates, fix them, leaks hinder any thought if a good start and idle.

How do you know your injectors are leaking and where are they leaking? If its from the o-rings and not the pintle, fix them immediately. Major fire hazard. If it's from the pintle, get them rebuilt.

Before you put your plugs in, clean the with brake cleaner and blow dry, if they are heavily carboned, get a new set.

We all started in your position once. Mines not running 100%, but yes I know how to work on it because I've had it for 6yrs. I hate to see people give up so early on rx7's.

na-tuned89 : I have read your previous post history and it looks like you could have a miriad of issues with your install including a questionable engine (though dont know who you got it from).

I think you should still try and figure out all the probs and get her going if possible and not give up. It does sound like you need some knowledgeable help though so why dont you again try to find someone local that can help you out?

If you just bail now then all your time effort and money will be wasted.

I have seen many bad installs corrected by just simply going through all systems till the problems are found.

Best place to start is at the beginning tho, is it a good engine? And second...you changed wiring harnesses, is everything hooked up wired up correctly?

Good luck
