need to rebuild

so ive been planning on doing a rebuild on my 87 gxl. i got a list set up for parts and stuff and am pretty much ready for it. but was wondering how longg it usually takes? if you have done it yourself how long did it take you and did you run into any unexpected troubles?

oh and another thing. is there anthing recomended to slow or help out with the leakage of oil while i get all the parts and research fully figured out and in my garage? see my car is leaking oil and blowing smoke at high rmps so from research and to my understanding i need to replace oils seals and other seals and thats the motive behind the rebuild.

Yea you would want to replace the oil control seals and springs. You would also want to replace all the other seals in my opinion. Some seals can be reused but you will definitly want to replace all the springs. Make sure to check the specs on the seals per the FSM. Im pretty sure www.atkinsrotary.com sells a pretty complete rebuild kit for like $1000-1200. Might look there.
