I have a small electrical problem that I will be seeing an auto electrician about latter today. I thought I would see if anyone here had and ideas on how to fix the problem in case this guy can't do it, as he sounded a little unsure on the phone.

The problem is that I can’t turn my high-beam headlights on. When I pull back on the lever to change to high beam the headlights will change over but when I release the lever they will change back to regular beam instead of staying on high.

I was going to just by a new switch but if it is a relay or something I will have wasted a lot of time for nothing (I can't re register my car for road use until I fix this problem)

For the record it is definitely a problem that has developed in the last year as I passed rego last year. Also thought I would throw in that I am using Raybrig Hid headlights, but have been for the last few years.

Hmm sounds like the switch to me. Sometimes the switch is just loose because the screw bracket holding it into the console are cracked and you can pull the swithch but not enough to lock it into high beam. If he switch moves around inside the console I would say that is the problem. If not then you need the whole switch.
