in need of opinions

on craigslist, someone has a rx7 86, for sale for $400. They say all that is needed is a new rotor and apex seals. Ive watched arons hour long vid on how to rebuild a 13b, is it as easy as he makes it seem? would this be a bad idea to spend 400 on the car? if worst comes to worst can i part this thing out and make my money back?

thanks,
curtis

you could probably at least make your money back, even if you just passed the shell onto someone else.

You'll probably a rotor & housing, and you're not going to just replace the apex seals anyways, you will need the whole kit if you want to do it right. Expect to drop about $1k on rebuilding the engine. If the car's not loaded up with rat poop and missing half the interior with the other half either soaked in rat pee pee or chewed to fluff (like the last $400 FC I looked at) then it would probably be worth it. I passed on that $400 car, but anything in better shape would probably be worth it. Does the CL ad have pictures?
