Need More Boost
Passenger

I have an 87 Turbo II with an air intake and exaust. I want to run more boost with the stock turbo until I get money to upgrade the turbo. I just needed some help on what other parts you need to run more boost safley and how much boost can the stock turbo take without over spooling it. I know you need a fuel cut off defender, better blow off valve, boost controller but I'm not sure what else you need to run more boost safley. I drive my car daily and don't want to turn up the boost until I'm sure she can take it. Thanks
I am told with upgraded injectors 12psi can be achieved without any problems; but not to go beyond that with the stock turbo...
thats 720cc secondaries with something like a Super-AFC leaning them so the fuel curve is good and isn't superduper rich
You'll need an FCD or HKS F-CON or something (then you wouldn't need the SAFC but this is more expensive)
the FCD is pretty reliable provided you don't crank the boost insanely high and you dial in your own fuel with the S-AFC... since the computer thinks its running <6psi it only loads a fuel map up for that...
to actually raise the boost you can use a manual boost controller which can be built for about $7 (brass fittings with nipples and a ball bearing or two) or bought for $50 or get an electronic one for $300+
of couse you need an aftermarket boost gauge and I'd recommend an EGT and A/F ratio gauge if you're going to be playing with the S-SFC and bigger injectors
