need a little help..

hey i just got a 1989 GTU for 1500 with 140,000 miles on it. the car drives fine but when it idles it bounces a lot, especially right when i start it. once it warms up it gets a little more steady..but i dont know whats wrong with it. any help would be appreciated...im new to the forum and to rx7s. thanks

if it revs up to 3000 and then drops down slowy ,, thats a typical rx7. accelerated warm up process.. if its all over the place. then it could be a leaky injector. or something along those lines

Word on the street is that Grounding can cause stuff like that, check all the engine grounds and such, or maybe even add your own to chassis. See if that helps, I know more grounding never hurts, anyway

90% of the time, idle problems are caused by vacuum leaks and/or a bad or misadjusted TPS.

the whole engine compression thing is kinda scaring me tho..im hoping its not that.

fix the grounds and adjust tps first, they're easy. fixing grounds did lots for my car.

take some sand paper ,, take off one ground. scuff the mounting surface and the terminal.. bolt the ground back on and move onto the next one .. thet reminds me thats something i should do to
