Need to kill a doubt about this Rx-7

It's about the s5 TII Im gonna buy (or at least hope it's in condition to do so).
as I told b4 on another thread the father of a friend of mine who has an s4 TII told me that the engine has a problem. he didn't knew what it was specifically but he told me he would try and find out.
the thing is... is there anything possible that the car can have that it's so ruined it has to be rebuilt or even worst replace the engine??
I have reved it (in neutral, cause the car has no alternator belt) and it seemed fine!! super fine really just love that rotary sound!! .
here are the things that I noticed:

-I have the impression that it had that infamous hesitation around 3800Rpm.
it made a few pops when it was reving down.

-It's idle is REALLY BAD !! not like moving around a bit.. it's like 700-1200 and it's like it acelerates a lot, really down then UP with lot of engine noise.. (is that the normal bad idle stuff)

-had absolutelly no water on the overflow thing. and it has a color that Im almoust sure that was caused by rust..

-I think I saw a few things coming out of the exhaust tips when the engine was reved hard.. but the exhaust is really rusted, so I guess its the inside coming out. or maybe the cats are desintegrating?!

-when I turn it on with an outside powersource it beeps like crazy. not beep beep.. it's a continuose beep. (Im not sure if it only beeps when I turn the engine on or it beeps when I put the key on the second position)

-it's kinda hard to start the engine.. but if I press the acelerator just a little bit like I read on some site it starts up.

oh I forgot to mention that it has been stoped there for at least 2 years.. was driven a few times until it's alternator belt jumped out of the pulley.
cause if all those troubles are easy to fix.. nothing special. I think I can get the car for cheap, cause the father of my friend is really cool guy that I know for a long time, and he told me that he would go there with me cause he knows the owner of the car. and that he will suport me and help me get the price lower.

Thx in advance!

Did the idle jump around when you first started it up? That is a normal warmup process.

Replacing the motor is not bad, and not that expensive.

Read the FAQ about common problems with the car and what to look for when buying a new one.

I was reading the FAQ now, about idle stuff. but its how to fix stuff..
I was asking cause personal experience is the best thing.

"Did the idle jump around when you first started it up? That is a normal warmup process."
isn't the normal warmup thing the engine reving up to around 3000rpm ?
but yes it was imidiatlly jumpy

"Replacing the motor is not bad, and not that expensive."
but I guess it's hard to find a new engine here :\

Edit:
and another question that Ive asked some times and noone responded me yet:
Can any mazda garage do a compression check on the car?
cause Ive been told that these guys don't know crap about Rx-7 engines

Any mazda garage can check compression on a rx-7. The mazda tester is fool proof. Just make sure they have the correct tester.

I guess most ppl here are from the USA.. Rx-7 is a rare car around here. and its a super machine!! beats the crap out of most cars!! even rich boys around here don't get get cars that can beat a well tunned Rx-7.
Diesel is fashion here :P. and with a reason.. gasoline is REALLY expencive. Im off to a great adventure with this car!! hard to get parts, no mechanic knows anything about it and it drinks like a camel
that's why I ask lots of stuff here. cause that car has a lot of attention to it, but everyone gets spooked cause everyone has a friend that knows that car and they know there is sumthing wrong with it, and its hard to get it fixed etc etc etc... and that it drinks oil (and they don't know its normal on a rotary )

it could be fine it could not be

there could be vacuum leaks, bad grounds, clogged cats, bad gas, blown coolant seals, it could be overheated.... you have to check out the car but first add some coolant!

and about ppl who talk trash about the 7... well some of them Ill give em a ride, so they say the usual... "HOLY COW THIS THING REALLY FLYES!!!"
the others just have to see me pass bye

Edit: I filled the coolant "hole" the last time I turned the car on. with distiled water :p but I think it's no biggie cause temps are nice and warm here where I live
