Need info on this microtech
Hi guys, i've searched and posted a thread in the ems section about different things and i've learned a lot over the past few days about engine management for the rx7 and i'm trying to find the best deal. i've found a great deal on a microtech. the seller tells me it will plug right into the rx7 harness, but i've read that you have to rewire the car to use microtech, and also heard something about having to replace sensors and that i may lose a lot emissions components making it difficult to ever pass inspection... heres a picture says everything pictured is included for $300 shipped

no, it will not plug right into the harness.
i do believe there is some people who make adapter harnesses for the stock harness to plug into it but it is not in that picture so he's feeding you some BS or not telling you everything. the microtech also only utilizes about 3 of the sensors off the engine so the rest of the stock harness is worthless. when i install microtechs i build all new harnesses because the old stock ones are almost dead, as yours likely is almost there as well. it's unreliable installing an EMS onto a car with a crappy 20+ year old engine harness in the oven that is the RX7 engine bay.
in fact there is no harness in that picture at all, the seller is trying to stick you with an EMS that you will need to order a new flying lead kit for. basically he's full of **** and trying to stick you with purchasing a $125 harness and several weeks worth of time waiting for one to be shipped to you.
