I thought I replied to this at work...
Get a multimeter and check the current on those nasty wires. If its over 2.00v+ (which unless they are TOTALY fried and shorted, it will be) then go buy a $3.00 Bosch type relay and $4.00 in wires and you'll have a more stable and reliable headlight wiring system then if you relwired everything to stock standards.
Even if you don't have 2v+ at the ****-wire, I would grab the closest switched posetive wire (or switched ground) and run it to the new relay, bypassing all the old ****.
Your headlights would be recieving power from 12inches away from the battery and have a more constant supply. And a bonus, you won't be using those nasty wires.
I say check the "fried" wire first, see if it has enough voltage to switch the relay.

Ohhhhhh. Those are the wires that run from the headlight area to the DIMMER RELAY. See the schematic? The left, bottom corner of the schematic???? See the RW (red/white), RB(red/black) and B(black) designated wires?????? See how they go from the 65/60W headlight bulbs to the DIMMER RELAY???? See how I attached a picture of where the DIMMER RELAY is????? Pull the DIMMER RELAY out and look at the wires at the base of the DIMMER RELAY. Same colors, right???? Right. Notice how the RW, RB wires are spliced together with the left and the right headlights????? You might wanna take a look at the right side lights/wires also.
The fuse that feeds them, resides in the engine compartment. I attached that picture also above. It's the third fuse if you start counting from the inboard end of the fuse box...to outboard. 30A

There's more than just a little that I don't understand about this thread/post.
Anyway, the Dimmer Relay has the following wires attached to it's relay base: RED/GREEN wire, WHITE wire, RED/BLACK wire. So...the idea is to look at each relay base and see if you have a relay base with those colored wires.
And the other guys question about the fuel pump......when you have an engine in the car and the alternator running, you will have/should have approx 9/10volts at idle or any engine speed when there is not a load being seen by the ECU. Once you start boosting you've put a LOAD on the engine and then the ECU will remove the ground from pin 3D which runs to that fuel pump resistor relay, and the resistor will be taken out of the circuit and you should now see something close to alternator output voltage. Something like 12-13volts. You ain't gonna know til you get the engine running and put a load on the engine.
