NEED HELP! UIM gasket problem

i pulled the UIM to get to stuff underneath, and i have a replacement gasket but the old one is glued to the LIM. it seems to be in good shape so i might just leave it, cuz it will probably take me several hours to pick at it with a razor blade. should i just leave it or is there a simpler way to get rid of the old gasket? any help is greatly appriciated.

I used a wire wheel on my cordless drill... it took a while but the gasket came off.

Eh, I've reused that gasket without any major problems. Mine was the same, solidly bonded to the LIM. I don't think it's the best way, but it does work (at least well enough to drive the car without problems).

I would use hylomar instead of RTV, IF I were reusing an old gasket
