You want to take a non-turbo and turn it into a turbo?
...without getting the 13BT engine???
You gotta be kidding me???

So you're asking how to throw a turbo onto your existing engine that you got now, right?

Technically, that is not a "T2 Conversion".
"T2 Conversion" implies you want to use the T2 engine and drivetrain.
If you don't want to do that, then it's not a real conversion.

You just want to turbo your non-turbo...

I think he said that meaning that an NA eng has higher compression rotors and is a six port where as a tubo eng. has lower compression rotors and is a 4 port. I know its been done but i think that for you unless you're very mechanically inclined w/ rotarys your best and easiest bet would be to buy the engine and related parts for a 13bt, which is the turbo 2 engine that would only be sswapping the harness engine and ecu then if you had the tranny and rear end to go w/ it too....My info. might be wrong but I see you're kinda new and want to try and lead you in the right direction. ANYONE CORRECT ME IF MY 411 IS WRONG. thanks and good luck-Erik

I'm going to try and put this in the simplest way I can. Its cheap, but not that much cheaper. Why? If you don't want to change engines after every few hundred miles, I don't recommend you turbo'ing anything since you are mechanically inclined.

Things you need to collect to turbo your car.
Stock Turbo
Exhaust Manifold
Both Intake Manifolds
Throttle Body
AFM
ECU From a T2(requires slight rewiring, tough on he challenged folks)
Front Cover from a T2 motor
Fuel Management System
Fuel Pump
Injectors
Exhaust
stock Intercooler and pipes
Turbo2 Hood
Boost Sensor
TUNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a few other things I left out, but you're still basically better off buying a Turbo 2 long block and stripping it just to swap parts over. OR you just drop the engine in and start swaping neccessary parts.

This thread is going no wear. Here is a link to the FAQ https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/ this has links to other NA turbo setups. Many people have done this already here so you can find what you need.

Not to be rude but how much money do you have or think you are going to spend? Do you have the tools?

If you can't afford it, wait until you can. Don't blow all your money on something that will give you a lot of problems. When you can afford it, do it right by either buying a T2 or doing a complete conversion. I've had my 7 since I was 17. Not until I was 25, making >70K a year that I was able to afford doing the conversion properly using my tax refund. There's more to life than turbos.

Not much, but there is.

Hi everyone I was wondering what I need to do in order to non-turbo my tII? I have about 200.00 bucks and was wodering what the best way to decrease horsepower is? I couldn't find anything on the FAQ's about doing a turbo to non-turbo conversion.

JUST KIDDING!!!!

LOL! These conversion threads kill me everytime. They spark arguments, debates, and laughter.

Want more power? Buy a TII..period I can't believe how many tII's frequently go up for sale on ebay, autotrader and this forum for decent money and still many insist on spending thousands to convert?

Oh well....

Age doesn't matter people. Im only 19 and I've taken apart engines to figure out whats with them at 15 because I want to figure it out, not just because everyone is wanting or asking about them. I just built a high-comp, bridgeported turbo engine and I'm 19. Does that mean its not going to work. NO!! Odds are I may end up skipping something and screwing up but Im 19 and I have learned to slow down and go over more than once. Reading does wonders.
