need help with starting

Smile need help with starting

i just put the motor into a 87 t2 i go to start it and all i hear is clicking coming from buy the ecu and not sure what it is. the battery is tight and stuff i am not sure what i forgot to ground out so maybe some one out there knows. thanks for the help and i really want drive the t2 so i am motivated to fix it.

The clicking is most likely from the starter solinoid. That tells you that the solinoid probably works. Is the engine a J-Spec or does it have a starter that you know works? Either way you might consider taking the starter off and connecting power directly to the starter motor and seeing if it spins.
