Need help resoldering warning light cluster

My warning light cluster stopped working, and when I threw an alternator/water pump belt I didn’t know until the engine overheated, so I’m in the process of resoldering it to make it work again.

I’m going through with a multimeter and checking resistance between all the connections on the boards and resoldering any that are open, is this the proper way to do this?

Finally, as I was going through the connections i found these two that had holes with nothing in them. Is there supposed to be a resistor or something there? It was under the paper cover/weird thing with wires hanging off of it.

I’d greatly appreciate some help here. Thanks in advance

Or if anyone had detailed pictures of a known functional light cluster that would also be hugely helpful

Basically you need to desolder all the existing joints (use desoldering wick) and apply new solder. That's what the old rebuilt Icemark clock warning panels did (way before your time... Icemark was a forum moderator who died many years ago but he rebuilt my clock/idiot light panel when I had an FC)

The new solder is very important. I just re-flowed the existing solder on my first few repairs, and it never really took. The problem would come back in time. Applying new solder has resulted in permanent repairs.
