Need help quick! Fuel Injector Resister pack question

I have an 87 engine and my 88 car has no fuel injector resister pack. Can I remove the resister pack from an older car and just plug it into the 88's harness? I dont feel like swapping engine harness' and injectors.

One more thing, will the 88s ECU control these older injectors?

THANKS

not without resistors. unless of course the engine is after '87.5 which is when I think they changed them... some 87 are high, and some are low.

Do you know if the resister pack can be plugged right into the 88s harness?

Lets pretend it fits right in... Will the 88's computer run these injectors correctly with the resister pack installed?

I found this by Bambam7:

I believe all the ECU's are, as you put it- "high impedence"

The 86 to early 87 (not later 87's) utilize a resistor pack under the air filter to up the resistance of the injectors. The 88+ don't need the resistor pack, as they use high impedence injectors.

So this answers my 2nd question about the ECU.

Now that I know that the ECU is cool with these older style injectors, can I replace the injector clips on the harness with 1988 style clips and use the 1988 injectors?

I came to the conclusion that a resistor pack can't be plugged into the 1988 resistor-less harness without some hacking of wires.

Since the post-87.5 cars did not require the resistor pack, it's highly unlikely the necessary wiring is still in place, especially since the resistor's location adds a lot of length to the injector wiring.

So replacing the injector clips and injectors from post 87.5 cars will work fine right?

yet another annoying problem...

Everything is ready to go EXCEPT theres no power coming into the injectors. The plug for the resistor pack is there BUT theres no "bridge" for the power to reach the injector wires from the big black wire (12V).

Can I plug the injector wires into this black 12V wire to power them?? what should I do?
