need help from prefec b spec 2 owners

i just bought a used greddy spec b 2. it is intelled correctly for an external wg. i know either the controller is bad or the actuator is bad. i am getting power to the actuator even when my cotroller is off. it overboost even when off, my spring is an 8lb spring. when i unplug my actuator my wg opens perfectly. any ideas . is there suposed to be power at all times to the actuator? is the actuator shorted out? please help. and yes it is installed correctly. i already talked to greddy but they want me to send them the unit for testings.

100% positive, com port to top port of wg and pressure side of turbo to bottom port of wg and nc(normaly closed) port of solenoid. what i need to know is at the harness that goes to solenoid is there any power going to it even when off mode? if so what voltage? is either my controller is not controlling voltage out or my solenoid is reacting even to small amount of voltage. any other ideas to test will be welcome

i had the same trouble with mine. you need to TEE the NC side that goes to lower port of waste gate to manifold pressure. that is what had me stumped for a while. also make sure the solenoid is facing upright! i had it mounted facing sideways and the thing wouldn't work, put it upright and it works. i know that it sounds stupid but i went back and forth tying it both ways a few times to make sure it wasn't anything else.

the compression line is t off . and the solenoid is up right. on the normally open valve air goes by and out the com port, whitch will be the correct way to mount for an internal wg by regulating the air going in to the actuator. with the normaly closed no air goes throug untill solenoid starts letting air by to the top part of the wg (external). when system is off air should not be going by to the comp port from the normaly closed. Problem as soon as the solenoid is conected to harness valve opens to comp port from normally closed even when system is on off mode. problem solenoid or controller?

the manual does state that the solenoid will make noise, maybe it's normal. have you tried calling greddy?

that is what i am trying to avoid . if i could just find a way to test either the solenoid or the controller i will just order the part needed. if i send it to greddy they will probably tell me to buy a new one.

well does it function properly? if it works fine then who cares if it makes noise. make sure you have checked through the install. i thought that something was wrong with mine and was about to buy another one when i figured out that i needed to make corrections on my install.
you said that when you connect the harness that the solenoid, opens. do you have it wired to constant power or switched power? did you wire it up correctly?

solenoid dont make noise, it is not working. it does not adjust. it does not open my wg spring even when off, olnly when disconected. so once again it is intalled correctly, just either the solenoid or the controller not working. i will be sending it to greddy tomorrow. then i will post what was wrong with it.
