Need help passing echeck!!

My car failed the echeck today. They said I have a high amount of hydrocarbons. How can I fix this? I'm pretty sure my cat is bad cause my old engine before the swap had bad oil control rings so it burned TONS of oil through my exhaust. Could that be the problem? I am getting ready to buy a new Racing Beat cat back system but I cant afford a new cat. Can I take apart and clean the existing cat or do I HAVE to buy a new one? Do you think all that will fix my problem? Thanx!

How high were the Hydrocarbons? Mine were at 700 and the problem was with my Air Control Valve. It is 325-350 to replace depending on the car. Also check O2 sensor if you smell gas, "50$ aftermarket". Check your air pump also if you hear any noise from it replace it, "50$ from a junkyard" "700$ from Mazda".

Well, I had already replaced the O2 sensor. My hydrocarbons were like 400 or something.

Do what I do! I have a friend who's father owns like five gas stations that do inspections. I just choose one and he checks everything and then hooks his new jag up to the exhaust machine thing. I pass with flying colors! I love having friends that can hook me up!!!!! For free!

Or you could just move to Saskatchewan Canada and not have to worry about emisions tests! cause you kown what!!! we don't have them!! lol
That could be because 3/4 of our province is convered in trees! i know this really doesn't help but if you love driving your seven it is a viable suggestion!

Speak for Saskatchewan Itself. Here In T.O we have strict emission standards for our 7's. But, If you have the right hook ups you could have any car that farts pure gasoline pass.
