MO Need help now

I got a big problem. i went to change my oil, nothing out of the ordinary. After putting new oil and filter in i turned it on like normal and it ran fine for a few minutes. then all of a sudden oil starts leeking from the bottom. it looks like this is coming from my oil pan but its hard to tell. the car didnt make any noises before and i was jsut driving it before i changed the oil. i need some answers fast is this just a seal for my oil pan and a some what quick fix or is it somthing more like a blown seal on the engine or somthing thats going to require me to rebuild the motor and **** me off. i have an 87 gxl with 45k on a rebuild motor with 136k on the rest of the car. HELP ME PLEASE

maybe if you put a real title in there... like "oil leak after changing" instead of the lame *** title you used...

You probably didn't get the filter on correctly or all the way down. Did you put the drain plug back in?

I would have never guessed.

a: Jack the car up
b: Clean everything up under there
c: Fire the car up and look for where the oil's coming from.

You're not gonna find the leak if everything's covered in dirty oil.

Well I could just shut down the thread, since it does not follow the read before posting announcement/rules in big red letters at the top of this section of the forum; that you were supposed to read before posting.

But I figure if you only changed the oil, then the only things wrong would be what you did.

I suppose by coincidence you could have popped a oil cooler hose or something like that, but since you think you might have blown a motor because you have a oil leak, chances are you probably wouldn't know what to look for anyway. I mean if you can't figure out where the oil is pouring from...

There was a double gasket but the oil was leaking from both sides of the car i need to go get more oil for the store to see if it is still leaking. if it is a the seal around the pan do i need to the engine out to replace it is seems kind of tight in there.

Oil is coming from the pan and i figured the motor wasnt blown. There was a double gasket on the filter and after romoving it and putting more oil into it it still continued to leak. i already had a small leak from the pan is possible from this im of built up pressure and made the leak much worst?

Being courteous really does come a long way. Should have listened to Icemark and the others.

+1 on cleaning the area and looking for yourself.

I thought the retarded posts were wrong.

You know, I'm just spitballing here, maybe you spilled some oil while pouring it.

Otherwise, the motors toast, sell it.
