Need Help Now

I am about to purchase the whole TII swap. I was just told by a friend today that the transmission is TOO BIG TO FIT in the NA housing area. IS THIS TRUE?. I need to know right away. please help!

uh, I would ask sonicrat. He was retro fitting a GXL N/A with a t2 tranny. I think his e-mail is in his profile. Look for clutch cylinder in the search engine. He might even have pictures of the swap by now.

Need TII mount, driveshaft, and rear diff. Or the auto driveshaft to mate to your NA rear.

It all fits except for the transmission crossmember, but that is no biggie. Also if you want to keep the GXL diff, swap out the driveshaft adapter(that round piece of metal with the four holes in it) for the TII one, have a custom one made, or redrill holes, but I don't know how strong it will be.

i have the whole t2 drivetrain in my NA. Work really well. Not hard to make the cross member.

ok well can i use the Tll one? or the NA one and modify it? or do i have to make it from scratch? If someone had a pic or could get a pic from this I would appretiate it extremely!

You could probably get away with some angle iron or 1/4 inch steel with bigass bolts. I used both cross members for the tranny mounts when I converted my auto to manual. Either way if you want a short answer, get the tranny. Itll all work out in the end
