Need Help!!! New Ownder of an RX-7!

Well, I was installing an Sound System in my car, after a while didn't want to install it, went to turn the car on, it wouldn't turn over. Then I found out the spark plugs were flooded, took them out, cleaned them. Now the car still doesn't start, and the car also smokes up alot when I rev the engine or just start the car. Over heating also happens...

Can anyone help me?!

I'm going nuts!

Also it's a 1986 RX-7 GXL!

If the car won't turn over, make sure the battery terminals are connected properly, and are clean and tight. Also make sure the battery is charged. If you left the doors open for a long time and "tested" your "sound system" then you may have drained the battery. Do you have any electrical power in the car at all?

If you can't even turn the engine over, then it's likely not a flooding problem.

As for the overheating and smoking, there can be several causes.

See this page for common cooling problems: http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/cooling.htm

What colour is the smoke?

You really need to do some thorough searching on here, if you still think RX-7's have head gaskets

Omg, I feel like an idiot... Some guy told me on a Different forum that I blew it. His name was Dodge Man ironically... I'm a n00b with Rotary engines! That's why I'm here...

The Color of the smoke is White.

how fast are you blowing throught coolant?
as in does your coolant light/buzzer come on right after you start up the car?
do you have to refill your coolant everytime you drive it?

What can I do to fix this?

Anyone? I need to fix this car already, it bugs me how it's just sitting there. In fact, yesterday a guy on my street has an M3, first time he saw the car, he slowed down, stopped, looked at the car for a minute, and parked in his drive way. Such a head turner.

get a new engine. haha well if its the coolant seals then rebuild or engine swap are the only options. coolant seals in a rotary are throughout the whole engine which would necessitate a complete teardown. might as well rebuild from there. anyways good luck. i had a problem once soon after i bought my 7 where the low coolant buzzer came on every 5 mins just like you. it was the coolant hose that was at the very back passenger side right under the intake mani that routed into the throttle body then through the BAC then back to the front. see if you can find any wet spots in the engine bay. you only want to rule out that it isnt coolant seals first.

find a rotorhead local to you - but someone ligit - the kind of guy everyone goes to for answers - search for help in the west section of this forum - once you find reliable help with rx7's, you will be golden! forum help cannot really go that far at times - especially when 80 million people all have thier own answers

welcome to rotaries!

yeah juje your going to need to get a differen't engine or rebuild yours because that engine is toast

oh and the white smoke most likely has a sweet smell to it, the cause of that is that the white cloud is all the coolant that was in your system

White smoke, missing coolant, hard starting and overheating almost certainly points to a bad coolant o-ring.

The only way to fix this is to rebuild the engine.

Check the FAQ for links to some topics on how to rebuild an engine.

To have someone else do it will be $1000 at the minimum, and the price goes up from there depending on the quality of work and which parts will need to be replaced.

Any Good?

I bought the FC from a Pro Drifter, he's sponsored from Dunlop. Justin Pawlak, I guess I can wait over time to fix my car.
