The ECU grounds can be checked with a digial meter with the key OFF and the ECU plugs off. Look for under one ohm.

Got a spare CAS? Good. Pull the small white plug off the Lead coil and the trail coil assy so they won't fire. Pull the electrical plug off the cas and install it on your SPARE cas.

Key to ON. Spin the SPARE cas. You should be able to hear the injectors clicking.

To confirm the injectors being the problem, do this: buy a can of starter fluid. Spray into the air intake for one to two seconds. No more required. Go start the engine. If it starts momentarily then I'd agree it's a fuel injector problem. If so get the meter out and check the ECU grounds. PUll the small plug off the ECU. Check the pure black wires on the small PLUG....NOT THE ECU JACK,,,,,THE PLUG. The reading should be under one ohm. If so the grounds for the ECU are good. They probably are since your getting spark.

Might check the fuel lines being crossed. REmover the rear line, the return line and put a piece of exta hose on that hard line and into a bucket/jar/your name it. Jumper the fuel pump check connector and turn the key to ON. Fuel should flow into the jar/bucket/whatever showing that the fuel is indeed above 40psi and there are no obstructions in the fuel lines/FPR etc. Got flow? Good. Not a fuel flow problem or swapped fuel lines. Fuel lines are opposite on a JDM. That's why I mentioned that.

Maybe the fuel lines are crossed where they connect to the engine?????? Pressure and return lines crossed is what I mean. Jumper the fuel pump check connector and turn the key to ON. Can you actually HEAR the fuel passing thru the rails and HEAR the fuel returning to the tank by putting your ear to the fuel filler cap?

hey

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...d=188942&stc=1 dose that look right. I know that the picture is blurry, but, the one on the left is the return, the hose that is. So the right one is the send from the tank.

so i figured out how to make the code reader that was mentioned to me earlier and i got a code for the water thermo sensor. but the thing said that it would only read the lowest code. dose that mean that there could be more codes.

About the fuel lines. See the fuel filter assy below the brake booster area? Now see the other fuel line that is the return line? PUll the return line off the engine and then jumper the fuel pump check connector and turn the key to ON. Fuel should flow out that return line from the engine in large amounts.

About codes: The water thermo sensor if it has an open wire, causes the ECU to default to 176 degrees as a default temp. With a stone cold engine, that makes the engine harder to start because less fuel will be injected than if the water thermo sensor was connected and working.
