Need help figuring out how to light up unraised headlights.
I know basically what needs to be done to make this work off a seperate switch but I was wondering how to go about doing it through the factory foglight switch so that whenever your fog lights are on your headlights are on but not raised. I am not sure which wire(s) on the foglight switch would have to be spliced and if you would have to splice into the switch ground or use a seperate ground. Any help would be great.

You seem to misunderstand that I don't want my headlights to be useless nor do I want to do things sloppy like that. I already have them set to a seperate switch to come on without raising the lights, I would rather integrate it into my foglight switch so that its automatically turned off when the ebrake is raised or the switch is turned off.
On a stock A-spec S5, the foglights only come on when the headlights are already on.
On the Canadian version the foglights come on when the engine is on & the hand brake is off.
On a Canadian car you could just put a jumper from the fog light relay to the headlight relay.

Go to www.mazdamark.com - he sells a stock headlight switch modified to do just what you said- when you turn the headlights on with the stock switch, they come on but do not pop up. You can stilll pop them up after you turn them on with the headlight cleaner switch.
But then that would have nothing to do with your foglights....

OR you could go with a simple relay system that is connected to your fog lights. you must find a relay that has a closed circuit when inactive, and a open circuit when active.
then wire the relay inline with your retract fuse (the one for the headlight motors)
your headlights will function normally if the fogs are off
turn on the fogs AFTER raising the headlights for fogs+HL
turn the fogs on first to activate the relay which will then allow you to turn your headlights on and have them stay down
god.. and it took a probe owner to figure that out...

Its a good thing I live in Canada then isn't it...
Still, no one has really solved the issue I needed help with, I want to know which wires of the foglight system I have to splice into in order to make the headlights turn on when the foglights are on. Since its a Canadian car, it would turn on whenever the ebrake is released or whenever the switch is turned to on.
I don't need relay explainations Probe boy, I just need a wire color. I already have a source for headlight power, I just need to know which wire coming off the foglight switch needs to be spliced. I don't have a wiring diagram or I'd look for myself.

On the front bumper brace there are some relays.
Facing the front, from left to right, they are 1) dimmer 2) headlight 3) foglight.
The control wire color code is W/L.
I forget. Is "L" black or blue?

Apparently everyone here except aaron is incapable of reading.
Aaron, that is how I did my wiring for my switch that I am using now (Method 1). Instead of using a radio shack switch I would like to splice into the factory S5 foglight switch so that whenever the foglights are active my unraised headlights are as well. The only problem I have is I don't know which wire needs to be spliced and if I need to splice the switch ground too or just maintain my previous ground.
Once again. This has nothing to do with using a Relay. I just need the wire colors. Probe boy, thats twice you have proven you can't read and because of it your stupidity is shown in other ways rather than just owning a Probe in the first place. Since you obviously don't have anything to add to this thread, why don't you just **** off.

there are only 2 ******* wires there, if one is wrong try the other..... oh god am I the smartest person here? by the time took all of these people to respond to your confusing *** question it could have been done

I don't know the foglight wiring off hand, so check the manual. But it could be just as simple as splicing the relay coil into the foglight + wire. Or if it is a switched negative, just connect the relay coil in parallel with the bulb.
