NEED HELP FAST! Fuel leak...

Well, atleast it smells like fuel.

I pulled out, and smelt a really strong gas smell, to look in my rearview mirror to see gas all over the driveway and road, luckily I was a few feet from home.

It's in the driveway, and it appears to be leaking from a brass canister RIGHT below the oil filter, like right there right under it.

I have an 88 SE naturally aspirated model.

I have this crappy book, and according to the fuel diagram, its not part of the fuel system.

Please help me fast! before my mom comes home and freaks out!

The fuel filter maybe.

Perhaps the hoses broke or came off.

its not the fuel filter, I'm pretty sure the fuel filter is that canister that is even lower, and is going from top to bottom with the hoses right?

This canister is on its side, connected to the part where the oil filter is on top of. but there are 2 black lines there, that it could be leaking from.

Anyone else?

alright, the brass canister it appears to be leaking from is like on the block, an inch away from the oil filter, and the canister I think is the fuel filter is farther down, and the input and output hose go into it north/south(up and down)

and the other canister is on its side, west to east

The only thing I can think of that's brass in that area would be the oil pressure sending unit. It is directly below the oil filter.

It would not leak gas from there.

the rubber fuel lines attach to metal fuel lines by the oil filter.... I'm guessing either the rubber hose split or the clamp came off.

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR!

I second that. Could also have split at the bottem or top of fuel filter and is spraying towards the oil pressure sending unit.

One other thing too.

Is that the car will start and drive actually.

So I would guess that its the return hose that's the problem

If it was the feed it seems the car wouldn't run very well if at all. Gotenks does not indicate a problem starting or idleing.

But whatever.

Yes, I can start and it idles, but fuel is just dripping from that area...

OMG... I just got a flashlight deep in there...

You see how that picture has 2 hoses? One of my house looks normal like that....

BUT THE OTHER HOUSE LOOKS ALL FLAT SHAPED, AND ITS WRAPPED WITH F'IN ELECTRIC TAPE!!!

Omg, I'm going to kill the last owner for putting me in this kind of danger.

Ok, stupid me lol, I was looking TOO low, the electric tape thing was wires...

But those 2 fuel lines are perfectly fine, and nothing is leaking from them, its a gold canister right below those 2 lines, right below the oil filter.

Alright, I finally see it.

Alright, there are the 2 spark plugs to the back rotor, and right behind those spark plugs, a hose goes into the block.

All the crap is leaking from that hose.

This stuff is like neon green, and the hose dissappears into the firewall, wtf is this?

Antifreeze

That hose goes into the fire wall so you can have hot air inside when its cold outside.

Heater Hose dude, dont drive it until its fixed. And check the area for oil. A leak from the pedistal will eat that hose.

My heater hose split on me at that exact point.

I didn't have any leak from the pedastal itself, but from many, many oil changes gradually dripping oil onto the hose, it rotted out and split length wise, so it wasn't apparant it was leaking unless the car was fired up.

The hose cost me like $23 from Napa Auto Parts and took like 10 min total time to replace and refill the system.

hey, bright side, you just flushed your cooling system.
