Need help with emissions parts.

So i'm borrowing equipment from my buddies n/a 86, and putting it on my n/a 88.

Only thing is, there are some small differences in where the hoses go. Like this one hose I titled "HOSE X" in my pics below. Mine goes from the aft side of my intake to the exhaust, but his (which looked more acurate than mine) went from this air pump thingy to the exhaust. So.... what should I do? I'm a little lost.

Also, I know a hose goes from the intake tubing to the a/p, then from the a/p to the a/p assist thing? I dont know what that shnizz is called...

The first picture is right for a non turbo. I've an opinion about the other picture. Trust me, it's snide but an apropho remark.

And your missing the large hose that comes off the ACV that goes to the silencer in the right front fender. Not really required to make anything work. Just MIA.

It's supposed to be a Delay Valve per the FSM (which is free from this site if you wanted to download it). FUEL AND EMISSIONS SECTION is where the info is. You might find I fucked up and it's really a CHECK valve instead. Only trust the local FSM.

By the way. That is the double throttle diaphram its vacuum hose connects to. So put a piece of vacuum hose on the double throttle diaphram and suck on it. The outer set of throttle plates should close when you do that. If the diaphram will not hold vacuum, then either buy another or just forget about a new check valve or delay valve. It'd be a waste of dough.
