I went with an ACT stage 2 kit (street/strip and HD pressure plate) and I love it.

Lots of others on here have no complaints about Exedy OEM Spec clutches, as well.

if its stock (especially a stock N/A) keep the clutch stock.

No *real* benefit to putting a heavy duty plate in or anything else....just get a stock replacement. Most auto parts stores can source one or have them in stock.

ACT with a lighten fly wheel. You will see a huge difference.

I would prolly get a lightened flywheel, but dont get an aluminum one.... you need some inertia. I have the ACT clutch/pressure plate set.

I have one made by NKK, just a stock replacement I guess. Been in there for quite a while now, I haven't been easy on it, and it still feels the same as when I first put it in. It was cheap too!

Maybe I'm screwed up... but isn't the rx-7 flywheel weighted specifically to balance the engine. My flywheel has a big counterweight built into it.

Just keep in mind that if you drive agressively you'll want a clutch that engages quickly.

like 90WhiteVrt mentioned, is there any sites you guys could recommend. I dont need a clutch at the moment, but just for a future reference.

Also, KhanArtist (and everyone else) what type of clutch engages quickly? I tend to drive aggressive sometimes. And it seems my clutch doesnt keep up with me sometimes.

The manual flywheels have the counterweights built into them. When you buy a flywheel for an RX7 you will need to specify the series counterweight you need along with that flywheel. Also, you can use the automatic tranny flywheel counterweight instead of purchasing a new one. The counterweights on the automatics were seperate from the flywheel themselves.

Unless your looking for something aftermarket, go with a facotry replacement Excedy clutch.
They work awesome, and you can pick up the entire kit for around $120 bucks.

If you are wanting to upgrade, go with ACT street/Strip.

No idea since I just got my car a month ago but I put a stock clutch in my Stealth and it sucked...usually when the cars on the original clutch you're thinking it just got old and thats why it engages so slowly but obviously they're designed to engage slowly so if you do agressive driving and want quick engagement an aftermarket clutch is the way to go.
