Need help brakes!!!

Well I got in my FC and ent to go drive it, backing out of the driveway and go to hit the brakes and they are locked up like they are when you have the car turned off and you pump the brake pedal till its hard. What the hell could be the problem??? I guess they aren't "locked up" but the brake pedal is hard.

Brake booster would be my uneducated guess, it sounds like you're not getting any power assistance from the booster itself.

Did it just start doing this?

Lack of fluid or a fluid leak would create a spongy pedal feel, his complaint is, I believe, a really stiff pedal.

Try bleeding the brakes anyways though man, I do mine every 6 months anyways just as a precaution. You might have trash in the lines. Bleeding may or may not take care of it.

Nothing stuck under the pedal I hope! Check to make sure the vacuum line to the brake booster is still connected. Also, turn the car off and see if it behaves the same way without the car running. I think EricRyan is on the right track with the brake booster. That or the Master Cylinder may have seized but I don't think that's all that likely.

Did you happen to take the Rubber Vacuum hose off the Booster?(it goes to a Steel line along the Firewall)..IF you DID,it is ON backwards.

Nevermind, I was just frustrated at the car for something else (oil leaking from the fitting that goes to the oil cooler) and just was ignorant and didnt realize I had accidentally popped off the vaccuum line down by where it goes into the firewall behind the intake mani.

If you are about to reseal your oil pan please just use silicone to reseal the pan and not a pan gasket.

I did and they failed both times but with silicone I have 100% success with all the oil pans i have sealed. (about 10 rotary motors) Thats counting FD motors which have a oil leakage problem. I am sure the gasket works fine but silicone just seem more reliable and easier to use. Plus you don't have to buy the gasket.
