Unhappy Need Help Bad

I just got my first 2nd gen today... IT has its share of problems but nothign major... so I thought. I really need help because I told my dad that this would be my last car and it was relaible, I would keep it for a long time etc... it has 70,000 miles on it. All of sudden, The rpm gauge didnt work. When I was stopped, no noise, but when I started diving I get to beeps. Beep Beep...pause pause.. Beep Beep continusly until the car stops moving. PLus this flooding problem is VERY bad. Even if I run the car for a long long time, when I get back in the car, it wont start. I have to pull out the injector fuse, crank, put it back and then it starts. EVERY TIME. Smells very bad of gas. My dad is going to kill me I have to get this stuff fixed. Its a t2 5 speed. ON the passanger side rear of the engine, there was a ground wire that looked like it had been melted and it wasnt connected. I jerry rig connected that. PLus there is like a vacumme advance there with a hose going no where. Any problems. ANyway I let the car sit for like 3 minutes, I went back out to teh car, and the RPM gauge was working fine, no beeps. Even though it wouldnt stop even with starting and stopping the car before. WHAT THE HECK??????

rx7s are notorious for cold solder joints and leaky injectors. You can resolder all of the circuit boards under the dash, its actually fun for me. Sounds like your guage pod has some cold solder joints, and probably everything else, its really no big deal if you can solder.

The flooding can only be fixed by getting your injectors professionally cleaned and rebuilt. I think you can also do the rebuild yourself, but a sweet temp fix would be to have a kill switch on your fuel pump, use the switch to stop the engine and flip it on when you are cranking her for a start up.

I have no idea about your vaccum line unless you can produce a picture. You can also look around, do a search, cause the Factory Service Manual has been scanned onto the internet somewhere.

Not really sure what your beep beep problem is, but check your coolant level cause I know the car will beep at that, and it will also beep at redline. May also be a cold solder joint if it only beeps when the tach isnt operating.

The ground wire you are talking about.. is it that spade terminal one on the firewall?? I think that is the ground for your transmission.

What year is your tII???

When I get it moving it shifts but when I start going slow IM screwed. It smells really bad and it kills the engine when slowl

Keep your saab until you fix your rx7!

Try flushing out your clutch fluid. Is it grabbing right at the floor?? May be air in the system. How old is the clutch? if it is original than it may need replacement if you have 70k original miles.

What did you pay for this car? When I bought mine I had dozens of stupid little problems. Now I am so happy with her!

the saab is up for sale on ebay. I had to part. I dont want to but I had to to have fuds for this car. I have a 2000 F150 to drive for now. thats funn 70,000 miles is like exactly what the odometer reads.. BUT if you ask me its not accurate. how do I flush it, I mean it is SCRATCHING and BURNIGN clutch it smell sbad and it grinds into reverse and first. Its quite and engien runs, push in cluth SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHH..
How do I flush out the clutch fluoid.
And how do I get the air out of the system. The way this happend was I was at my friends, he wanted to hear the turbo so in NUETRAL, I held the clutch down and just revved it up, I have the habiit of holding down cluth, but I didnt let off and then it just started going SCREEEEEEEEEEEEECh and that was that.It stalled. I hve to really give it gas in first.

Most of this can be fixed quickly by a good rx7 mechanic - so that's the good news.

Beeping could be a faulty coolant temp sensor.

If you want to do it yourself - get the mazda repair manual and hayes manual.

It sounds to me like you need a new clutch, throwout bearing, and maybe the pressure plate. That screech might be something scraping up against the pressure plate. When mine went out, I was just glad that I knew how to shift with no clutch. If that's the problem then it's going to be an expensive fix even if you can do it yourself.

On the flooding, you can get refurbished injectors from www.fuelparts.com They're like $45 a piece. I found out about the site from Salguod in a recent thread. I bought four of them and I could swear they were new.

As for the vacuum line, we would definitely need a picture. I know a lot about my n/a, but not much about your t2.

Heres the thing. That two beep pause two beep thing was only at the same time of the Tach not wokring. ANd only when the car was in motion. It stopped beeping when I stopped. I to can switch without a clutch, I do a toe heel to get it started in first then it shifts FINE after that. I jsut dont want to continue to damage it. But it seems fine if I do it that way.

I think that only works on S5 cars.

the wire

the wire that you plugged in was it comming from the fire wall????
if it was thats the ground wire with that wire disconected the rpm gauge will not work ...

mine did the beeping thing for a while after i had done the 5th and 6th port cleaning and i forgot to plug it back in.

in your case you said that wire was almost broken right?? thats why it would work on and off

sure glad you decided to reconect it hehe

sorry i cant help you out on the other problems..
