need help!

i have a 88 rx7 non turbo. I believe it has blown coolant seals because it blows out white smoke and is very underpowered duing start-ups, but it past the radiator test and the oil doesn't seem like its been mixed with any coolant. If the coolant seals are blown should it be smoking every time i start it up? cuz it only smokes about every other time i start the car. O ya, i went thru a whole container of coolant in about 10 min. So its either one massive leak or its the engine.
Thanks

Its the engine dude.... Park the car and pull the motor....

Its possible to blow a coolant seal and have no freeze in the oil... especially it it happend at the harbinger of doom area on the front iron where the metal is long and thin between the inner coolant seal and the water jacket.

Sounds like it has blown coolant seals... you would see that much coolant on the ground if it were a leak.
Does the exhaust smell sweet? If so... rebuild it.

70 is a little low, may be looking at an overhaul soon just from that figure alone.

as for going though a gallon of coolant, you had to of had an air pocket, there is almost no possible way the engine could burn that much coolant and stay running in the short of a period, if it was just water i might say yes but coolant no, if it is able to burn that much coolant without killing the engine then you would be smoking out a whole neghborhood block with tons of white thick smoke.
