Exclamation need help

i have an 90gxl i just took everything out for the a/c except for the stuff inside the dash but now my car idles very weird and tries to die. and when i hold the engine at 1000rpms or so it will not die but it will spit every couple of seconds or so. i disconnected the mass air and the battery while taking the ac out but connected them back and triple checked for wires and vacum lines that may have fallen off but could not find any. i also disconnected tha battery for 15 min to try to reset the computer and it still did not work i know it has to be something stupid but i cant figure it out
