Need To Go Fast

This is my first post, and I need a lot of info. I got a 1988 Rx7, and I want my car to look nice, but mainly I want the speed. My dad is into race cars, and he got a lot of friend that are mechanics. But the dick head has told all of his friend that he doesnt want my car going fast, so I really dont know what to do to make my car have a little humf. My eninge is basically stock, I wanna do the total works on my engine, but I have no idea what I should buy first. And also Iam looking for a 3rd generation lighting kit, if anybody knows where I could find it. I would appreciate any info that you guys can give me.

Exhaust, intake, n20. If you got the $$$$, supercharge the engine. Also, loose weight. I removed my A/C, spare tire, sound proofing, misc plastic crap from the engine bay. Every 100 lbs lost is a .10 of a second in the 1/4 mile!!!!!

a full exhaust ( header, presilencer, performance exhaust.), Intake, and possibly a reporgrammed ecu will put you almost in to the 170/180 hp range.

reseach the ATF trick in the forum, and bring your compression back up.

The best way you can make your car faster is to learn how to drive it. I have seen so many people with fast cars loose races because they can't drive them.

your going to love this car.

you never said if it was turbo or not, i'd hesitate to advise on any mods until you are sure it's in top condition too all new fluids and comp. tested and such

I disagree with hyperdaddy. A lot of people swear by the "ATF Trick." Basically, you put automatic tranny fluid in the engine, let it soak, and it cleans out the built up carbon. I saw 0 gains from this, and my injectors leaked after doing it. It should only be done if the engine does not turn over, or there is a sudden, drastic power drop. It can break up carbon deposits that are actually keeping your car running!! I have heard of several people doin the ATF, and the car ran fine before they did it, then would not run after doing it. How many miles on the engine? If it ain't broke, you'll break it tryin to fix it!!
