Need advice on TII purchase
Need advice on TII purchase
I have the opportunity to get an '87 TII. Here's the deal, it doesn't run. Has good compression, turns over just fine, etc... But it won't fire. I haven't bought it yet, but obvious things to check are fuel, spark, ecu, etc right? Anything else I may be missing here? The person wants $1200 for it as is. Is this too much for a non-running TII? If I get it running it would obviously be worth more, but I don't want a money pit. Car has just over 100,000 miles. Body, and everything else is in wonderful condition.
btw.. it supposedly just 'stopped' running while on the freeway, previous owner never messed with it to find out what happened.

100,000 is near the limit for a TII on compression, i paid 650 for my TII, it had one blown rotor, but i got lucky to be able to find one where i live. If you have 110 on compression i would say it is a fair deal.
