need advice on rims

im lookin for something close to stock (i love the mesh/alotta spoke rims) in black with a polished lip, but heres the trick... sizes need to be 16/17" with 9" wide on the back and 6" up front. anyone have any websites? i have already tried tire rack and such, but nothing like i want.

size (5x4.5 or 114.3)
also, do the mustang rims fit on our cars?

Yes some mustang wheels will fit. I have some 2000 mustang GT wheels for sale that fit great!

Why do you want to run a 6 inch up front? The stock size is 7 inch..

You can get tuner rims in 8.5 but 9 is harder to find. generaly 3 pice rims start there and the price shoots through the roof.

tuner rims usually do not come staggered, i agree that i prefer staggered as the offset on the rears usually make wheels looks fine in the front but inset in the rear. ill be doing something similar soon but im looking for 17x7 in front and 17X9 in the rear.

I've never heard of a narrower rim than a 17" x 7.0".
I doubt they even make a 17" x 6.0"?

guarantee they don't make a 17" by 6.0"

if they did, it would be retarded...

SKinnys! But I was wondering why the hell he wants a 6 it would be useless in evrything but drag.

Well he could purchas 2 tuner rims of one size and 2 of the other :-)

I am going 11 in the rear and 9 or 8.5 in the front.

Yeah..if you are going dragging ONLY in this car, do 6 inch up front. If you EVER want to hit the corners, go at LEAST 7-7.5...

Personally, I'm looking at 8.5 up front and 9-10 in the rear.

drag is my way of going, its a turbo'd 357w. 6" was just a thought, id like to run 195/45/17's upfront, with 255/20/17's in the back. (i want 9" rims so that i have room to go to a 295 later.

255/20. :O

You probably meant 255/40's. You can probably get some skinnies from Summitracing or Jegs.

295 is entirely too wide for a 17x9 wheel. You would want at least a 10.5 for that. Just because it will physically fit onto the wheel, does not mean that you have more contact patch.

I cant suggest any street wheel that comes in a 6" width that you specified. Closest thing that comes to my mind in a "tuner" wheel that isnt expensive would be a 5zigen FN01R-C. They are a lightweight wheel available in nice colors and offsets for the FC. Smallest you are going to get up front is a 17x7 ( +35mm offset)though, and largest is a 17x10. I know someone running 275/40s on the 17x10 out back, with the 35mm offset, fit good with no issues. I know he did roll the fenders just for safety though. You could squeeze a 295 on a 17x10, but its not optimal. For much else you are going to need to go with a custom multi-piece wheel, and pulling/rolling fenders. Here is a link to the sizes and colors available:

http://www.splparts.com/Parts/Univer...en/default.htm

Im pretty hung up on higher end wheels, such as Work, Volks, SSR, etc, but these 5zigens are really nice, especially for the price.

Depends on the width, but generally anything around a 35 should work.

295 does not fit in the stock rear wells.

I think older Skylines run 16x6.5's. I don't know where you can get some 6 inch wide wheels at.

Would 17x9 fit up front as well as in the back? or should I just go with 17x7s all around?

Whoo dude slow down. There is a FC wheel thread that you can scroll through to get an idea of what you want to run.

But 9's will fit in the rear and hard to fit up front and you will be fine with 7's all around. It all depends on your setup and what you want to run.

im lookin for a street setup where the rear tires will hook, and the front are kinda skinnys yet still drivable.

as for the legality of the tires, i had 195/55/15's on a mustang with 26x10.5 slicks out back. kinda goin for the same thing here except not slicks and 17" rims.

so 17x7 for front, and 17x9 for the back.
