Need advice, Holley 600, Throttle cable.

I have S4 with Racingbeat intake and a Holley 600 with a 6port plate extension for the cable.
The throttle cable is short, does anyone know the fix for this?

I bought a used turbo cable to get it longer, but still have the problem with getting it to reach the linkage.

What's the best way to get it attached to the carb also, what parts do I need?

Here are some pictures. One of the problem and one of my progress.

Everything you see with rust is being changed and or repainted with a serpentine belt setup. Once I get it running im going to clean the crap out of it.

Is the whole cable too short or just the inner cable?

The n/a cable is short you can see it in the second picture.

I guess I shouldn't work on my car when im tired. If I take the little extension off it will get the cable closer to the carb, if it was long enough.

Is the S5 n/a cable longer? or will I have to use the turbo one?

Here is a picture of the plate.

I feel your pain. I just finished my conversion on my 87 GXL and had the same issue. I tried one of those universal throttle cables, they are not really designed to be fit into our cars. Right now on a quest to find a TII cable (I read somewhere they are 3x as long as the n/a). I think this would be the solution to our problem. I'm surprised that none of the other Carb'd FC owners have answered this question.

I'd imagine they would be a pretty cheap on someone that's parting out their tII. I think there is a guy right now doing that.

I have a turbo cable, I searched to fix the length problem.

I was looking to find if anyone knows a way to get a shorter cable that would work maybe... The turbo one is very long and I bought the shorter of the two.

I found a tII cable for 30 shipped. SPENT-IT, cant you like route the cable around to make it fit. I have never experimented with one, but I guess we'll see when it gets here. BTW, where are the other carb'd people? I know I have seen like ten other carb'd guys. If somebody can come out and give us the answer it would be appreciated.

It's still short with the turbo cable. Now what?...... need help.

What do i need to make it hook up to the linkage also.

I dumped gas in the carb and it went zoOM, rpm went way up. It was good to hear but the cable problem is pissing me off.

Anyone out there ever figure this out? Doing an ida swap on my s4 soon and been wondering this myself. Worse case scenario am planning on roughly measuring around and looking for a universal one to mock up, but if anyone knows of a good one or size that works would be awesome to hear. Cheers

you could/should measure how long of a cable you need, and since every Mazda with a cable uses kind of the same cable. essentially they have the same cable in a bunch of different lengths
