do a full tune up. go to the search feature and search tune up. i was 16 when i got my first FC(it was an 88 as well) basically learn to drive your car and learn the limits of it before you start to do any performance mods(if you plan on doing any). a good way to do this is to take it to a autox event and run a few times. im not sure if there is an age requirement so you might want to check on that.

Welcome to the club
Read the FAQ before anything else . It has the best value to cost ratio! Lots of good ideas in here - https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/
Full tune up is the most highly recommended. Info inside.

^What they said. Proper (preventative) maintenance too. And just spend some time on the forum reading. You'd be amazed at what you'll find here! Congrats on the car by the way!

^^^hopefully not. You can tell he's a little different. HE didn't ask what makes my car faster, cooler or anything like that. HE asked for parts WORTH the money (which to me sounds like he knows the value of things and is not like the rest of the retards that post here for the first time.)
After you've done all the maintenance and tune-up things you can start byt removing weight (sound deadening, and anything you can remove. Once you've done that I'd go for an EXHAUST. You CAN go and buy the HUGE loud ones but you're young and have a sports car, the last thing you want is MORE attention. I'd recommend the Racing BEat TRUE DUALS (www.racingbeat.com has it as the road-race kit).
Cold Air Intake (CAI)
wider tires/rims
SAFC (or any way to tune the fuel for best performance and MPG)
Search for all these things and do a Lot of reading or i'll be the first to bitch you out. Enjoy and don't be reckless.

First thing I do when I get an N/A is gut the first 2 pre-cats(catlytic converter). Buy new gaskets if you can and use rust buster for the bolts.
2nd replace Plugs, wires, fuel filter, engine oil, trans fluid, rear end fluid, clutch fluid and coolant. INSPECT BRAKES and fluid.
CAI helps the car run strong and feel smooth. K&N has one but is expensive. You could make a custom one. Just search CAI setups.
Replace shifter bushings. Mazdatrix has the parts and how to on this one. Very helpful.
If you do it all yourself buy a hanes manual or Use the FSM on this site for help. All this stuff is not to expensive and will help your new 7 run better.

don't gut them unless you have no choice. Save them in case you ever need to pass smog or anything, but a good header and midpipe instead. It's worth the money.
Does Eureka have smog laws?? I can't remember if you guys were exempt or not.
