need advice

Hey guys well I did a search and still cant find anything that says whats better. what Im doing is buying a 3 rotor motor, then put it into an fc question is I was going to put it in a t2 but i heard that a gtu or gtus are lighter by alot and pretty much race ready brakes etc.
I know Ill have to buy a t2 tranny (ok can do) but what I want to know is which is the lightest car 2nd gen rx7 there is? I mean 400+ ponies t2 tranny and 4.1 or 4.3 rear end come on thats cool so please help me decide

thanks JD

I may be wrong on this but I don't think the TII body is substantially heavier, the only difference being with the sunroof and perhaps *slightly* heavier interior. I believe the TII has the top of the line brakes and everything else so there is no negative to chosing a TII body. Pick which ever you can get in the best shape for the lowest price.

Basically the TII is the luxury model, and "race ready" Turbo IIs are much rarer than the GTU-S as they were sold to performance shops mostly.

The TII has the best gearing & stronger drivetrain, so you should stick to that for massive HP & torque. You can lighten the TII as well, but the heavyer drivetrain is a must.

The GTU-S is a lightweight, stripped model and is intended for the "non turbo" race circuits.

Because he's removing the engine, take out the A/C, PS, ABS, Cruise, 35lbs for 13BT vs 13B and what's the difference between a GTU/GTU-S and a TII? Sunroof is the only thing I can think of. Are you suggesting the tranny is heavier too? (makes sense)

ok one more thang guys. I just purchased the white indiglo guages from cork sport. I installed them (i checked all wires and meter tested them) then put it back together. Now my gas was at 1/2 a tank and my water temp guage was at half way from when my car was last running, now they both peg to the top (confused) so should I fill my gas up and see what happens? what do I do about the temp guage its all wrong but it was sitting at the c when i start the car it just pegges up *** soon as I turn the key on ? please help cant figure out thanks

Start with a TII. In the end you'll be happy you did!
A big plus is you already have the drivetrain in and ready to go for a 20B (as long as you don't go really high power, like over 500 rwhp) then it's fine.
