Need ABS pump or Info On ABS!!!!!
Im in Need of an Abs pump for an 88 turbo II! THe one I have is leaking and wont hold pressure so it needs to be replaced. I heard somewhere that you can use an mx-6 or some other mazda ABS pump for the rx-7. one last thing can you just take out the whole ABS system and it will work correctly because if so i would rather do that than get another pump. But if anybody has a pump or any advice to give me please help!!!

Hmm. No write up that I know of. But I can give you a rundown. Not sure if 89 is the same deal as 88 though.
To do the COMPLETE swap without customizing anything, you will need:
1) Master Cylinder from a car w/o ABS (Part# FB02-43-400C)
2) Brake Booster for non ABS (Part# FB05-43-800D)
3) Brake Line # FB01-45-280E
4) Brake Line # FB01-43-360
5) Brake Line # FB01-45-320
6) Brake Line # FB02-43-370
7) Brake Line # FB01-45-360C
8) Your Proportioning valve from your current system will work fine for the standard brakes.
Basically what you need to do is remove all components of your current brake system, then replace everything with the parts from the list up there. If your mechanic is doing it, he should be able to figure it out. If you plan on doing it, I can make a little write up for you, otherwise I won't bother.
I got all the parts except for the master cylinder from the Junkyard and the whole thing cost me probly $250. $150 of that was the new master cylinder from mazdatrix.
For an 89 TII btw, you will want to cross reference those part #'s for your car. But I pulled most of the parts from S4's in the Jyard, so I think there will be no problems.
