nedd help with oil metering pump
I have a 1986 Rx7 that has a 1 yr. old engine and it needs to have a oil metering pump put in. I live in the palm springs area and went to the rx dealership which charged me an arm and a leg to put in a coolant thermostat ( i believe) $180.00 Also it took them about 2 weeks to figure out what was the matter. My engine man told them why it was leaking oil or they never might have figured it out.
so the man who put in the engine told me to check here to see if there was an rx7 mechanic in the area that might be able to help me.

You can buy a used OMP for ~$25 *or Mazdatrix is selling them for ~$200...* and you can have just a regular mechanic put it in. Really, if you can find a mechanic that can put it up in the air and tell you what the problem is, that would be great. Hopefully they don't charge for that.
All in all, my OMP is leaking too, so really, if you take off the fan/shroud, you should be able to get to the OMP with ease *or you could put it in the air on ramps or something, and possibly be able to get under and and get the 2 bolts off.*
