Near Catalytic Converter Fire Observed.

Guys, I need help! I started my car after about 2 months and after about 10 minutes of warming up I noticed a reflection f fire on teh garage floor. I took teh car out of the gurage as fast as I could and drove it a little distance to extinguish the fire. The fire did extinguish but left me scared as a scardy cat. I am not a car guy please help. I did notice where I had parked the car there was a little bit of oil on the ground may be about 200 drops or more.

What should I do? Help Please!!!!!

perhaps a small creature nested itself on the exhaust and the heat ignited it's nesting materials?

don't know why else it'd start a fire...

Check for an oil leak. These rotaries have quite a bit of gasoline in the oil sometimes and can ignite fairly easy. Especially if the oil leaks on the exhaust manifold

engine fires due to fuel leaks at the end of the fuel rails are a common problem on the 86-88 year RX-7s.
Due you smell a strong smell of gas in your engine bay?

yer just gonna have to get dirty and jack up the car and see if there looks like something like dry grass, a nest of some sort, a plastic bag or anything that could catch fire appears to have been touching the cat. the cat normally gets fairly warm and can ignite anything that can catch fire easily like fuel as Node said but you will have to do your own investigating as that is where i would start since it appears to have been the point that the issue came.
