Talking Name this sensor?

So i have an unknown sensor on this motor i bought..

it's a s4 motor, and there's a sensor to the left of the oil level sensor on the oil pan. It only had 1 wire coming out of it, and it broke off pretty easily. What sensor is this?

I've looked around here and think it may be an oil temp sensor for sub zero startup? my 86 didn't have this sensor, yet this 88(as i was told) did. I need to replace this sensor, not because i need to plug it in, but because i lost the old sensor and have a hole in the pan stopping me from firing it up.

Naw. It's the oil temp SWITCH for the Sub Zero System. Just plug it with a bolt.

Well, they do call it a oil thermo unit, but it's just a thermo SWITCH. Makes above 3.2 *F. Its for a system that was disabled by MAZDA themselves loooooog, loooooog ago.

There should be a oil level switch just aft of it. Not the one you want though. I can't see spending the money they are going to ask for something that does NOTHING in life.

Well for any interested, I went to the hardware store and went to the nuts and bolts section. I found oil drain plugs in one of the drawers. the plug that fits the thermo switch is an M16. screwed it in and good to go. 3 bucks compared to 30 for the thermo switch.
