NA Idle
NA SPORT, Non-adjustable BAC, Idle adjust screw ontop
My idle has been off for a couple years now and I can't seem to figure out why. It has been bad ever since a new clutch and flywheel were installed. Basically it sits right where it should, about 750, but when I give the car gas up to the high rpms it then comes down so suddenly that the car simply stalls. If I let down the revs lightly, the car will idle again. I thought it might have done this because an aluminum flywheel went into the car.
I've been trying to adjust the idle for some time with no luck. My car has these mods:
Exhaust-
Stock exhaust manifold, straight pipe back to Y-pipe into mufflers.
Engine-
Streetported, removed rat's nest, removed accessories except alternator and clutch fan.
I think that's all the relevant things. I adjusted my TPS and then attempted to set the idle. These are the steps I took:
1. Warmed car up to operating temperature
2. Placed jumper wire in
3. Started car
4. Turned adjust screw ontop of TB
Basically very little happens. The car will go down just a tad maybe 200 but will not go any higher than 750. I checked over the entire bay for vacuum leaks with a can of carb cleaner. Anybody have an idea where to go next?
