NA How fast

By fast you mean? HP 1/4 mile what? Heres my thoughts when I first got mine. I like my N/A it's quick and simple I would love to have the speed of the Turbo's but dont want the headaches that come with them. Dont be lead to believe N/A's arent fun to work with with cause they are they just dont have the speed of the turbos.

Ive owned both fb and fc N/A's, and was pleased with both. They were moderately fast in stock form and handled GREAT (the FB, GSL-SE, was by far more fun to drive, but the fc, GXL, i felt was an overall better car) Dont expect to run with mustangs or even maximas, but half the fun of owning a fast rx-7 is making it that way! Now I have a turbo ll and will NEVER go N/A again...unless its to supercharge one. But if its your first rx7, I would definitely reccomend an N/A, great way to familiarize yourself w/ the rotary engine. Have fun!

Rotary Freak
quick...
you can make them quick at best... I have an FC with a few mods and you will be able to have some fun in it but like the other guys said, without a turbo youre not gonna blow too many doors off.
However, you can open up intake, exhaust, get a light flywheel and it will help a lot!
Its the best choice for a first timer to learn about the rotary(again like the others said) and then move onto either a rebuild or a turbo swap.
It makes a great everyday ride

The n/a's can be made fast. There are more than a few low low 14 sec n/a's on this board, and a few in the high 13's. My car is currently among the low low 14 sec cars, but I will soon be in the high 13's. But it takes a lot of work, and a mod list long enough to make some people cry. if you want to go n/a, go for an 89-91. Youll be a lot happier with it. it has more hp and a much more rev-happy engine.
