n00b over here

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up my '86 RX7 on Tuesday. It's a total POS, heh, but it's my second car, so it's a project. Any suggestions on maintenence issues, or whatever will be helpful. This is my first rotary, so I'm just starting to learn about them. I've already heard about the compression test, and I'm looking into getting that done ASAP. Thanks, Paris

Anywhoo do a FULL tune-up: plugs wires oil coolant hoses belts etc. the WORKS baby. That will help keep her in shap.

On the compression test you can do it your self and save. Just search and you should turn up what you need. Make sure the engine is up to operating temp.

You can use any standard compression testing kit. Does not need to be rotary specific.

Welcome to the rx7club! There are also two other good forums out there. www.teamfc3s.org and www.nopistons.com

How many miles are on the car, and engine?(if you know) Its an NA since its an 86, so it probably won't be too much trouble.

Welcome to the crazy world of wankel. Congrats on the 86'. I think Aaron and SonicRat probably have most of your quetions answered. And since you're a girl, you're going to get hit on and asked for pics like crazy. I'm sure you're aware of that, but I figured I should give you a heads up.
