N/A to Turbo Conversion Questions

Now, i know almost everyone is just giong to say, dont bother and just buy a tII or a tII engin and rear end. But i want to know, has anyone done any N/A to turbo conversions, how much work it is, what i need to do, what i need to buy. I dont car about the cost, im just looking to see what i have to do for now. I really dont want to sell my car, i worked hard for it, and i dont want to have to find a tII engine, tranny and rear end and put that in cuz i dont have an engine lift, and i dont want to have to put in all new electronics (the computer) and all that. Just looking to see what i would have to do, and what i woudl have to buy to make this a sucessful stage 1 turbo conversion.
Thanks

you just said you dont want to do it

NA to TII conversion is straightforward job, doable in 2 easy days (did it couple times and could probably do it faster next time )

coverting NA to turbo (adding turbocharger to your NA engine) is not bolt-in aplication and would mean more work, more money and more time - and will require changes to you electronics whenever u want it or not...

Ok,
What then are the most upgrades i can do besides street porting, to improve my horsepower? I already ahve a straight through exhaust system besides headers, im thinking of gettting those next. When i get to it, i will porbably get a cold air intake and a vented headlight cover for the passenger side headlight to allow air to flow to it. I was thinking about lightening my flywheel. Questions i have are, how much of an improvement will a lightened flywheel make (how noticable on 1-10), where i could find a good computer for the car, and how much it would cost, and what are any other ideas of pushing my N/A to its max potential without street porting.

Port the intake manifold itself, get a megasquirt or other aftermarket EFI setup (though MS is considerably less expensive), and just make sure the parts you pick are quality and match with eachother and the rpm range youre going for.

Id give more specifics but the post would get too long.

My opinion is that there is no good way to get hp from an NA without porting. Especially if you aren't willing to touch electronics. An EMS like a megasquirt is actually the most likely spot to uncover extra ponies.

Man, I am soooo turned to the dark side. Turbo FTW!
