N/A tranny on a Turbo 2 motor

So my motor finally blew after the 155K mark. I am doing the Turbo 2 conversion (the right way) to the SE and finding some parts seems to be a little tougher than others. I'm sure others who have done this know already(Unless they got a parts car with everything in it, BASTARDS. j/k). Anyway, I've got the connection to the motor, driveshaft, ecu/harness, and little bits n pieces. But, what seems to be the biggest problem is finding a Turbo 2 tranny & rear end.

Which leads to my situation. I know a guy with an N/A tranny for $200 that is relatively new. I was wondering if I should just go ahead & get that or just wait longer for one to come along? Would there be any decrease in performance from this? I would think there would be, but i'm still a newbie in the rx-7 world. So please bare with me.

Also, Turbo 2 hoods seem to be a rare to come by. Anybody tried the carbon fiber one from SSM yet. I've thought about pulling that one for sometime now, but I have yet to hear about or see anybody with one. If someone can provide any info on it, please let me know.

Thanks,
Antaous

TII trany is stronger...I would go for that. But the NA tranny WILL bolt up, but you'll need a different fly and some other stuff. Do a search. Well discussed.

Rotary Ressurrection did an impressive write up on the N/A tranny with a t2 motor over a week ago, pics in all, worth a look.

$200 is a very high price for a N/A transmission, unless recently rebuild or very low miles. Usually Turbo2 trans sell for around that price. Anyway, to bolt up the N/A transmission you would need the N/A flywheel, clutch, and starter. Very much not worth the hassle being you plan to swap to a Turbo trans in the future anyway. Just wait until you can find the right parts to do it correctly.

This hasn't been addressed, and I don't know if he was thinking this, but the TII driveshaft will NOT bolt up to the n/a tranny, with an n/a tranny you will need an n/a driveshaft AND rear, as well with a TII tranny you need the TII shaft and rear.
