Hey, what kind of performance increase am I lookin at if I were to install a N/A Engine Torque Brace? Someone I know is selling one, any defects I should look for when buying?

Yo,
As always, Dave Gibson comes through:

Basically it prevents the "shudder" of the engine in first and reverse. I've got one, but haven't installed yet....gotta powdercoat it. *grin*

Do you need a RB torque brace if you go with the Poly motor mounts from banzi racing? They claim that the poly mounts will never wear out, so I gather that you don't need the torque brace, but would it help, or no?
i'll have solid motor mounts.
can't wait to see how long i can stand those. hopefully they won't be too bad. i've heard extremes from both sides.
Kevin, what color are you painting yours? i wanna see it!

It really has very little to do with how much torque your motor makes. The brace prevents side to side motor movement which should translate into smoother, more direct shifts. This is a good mod on most cars and even better on older cars w/ aged motor mounts. IMHO, a solid brace is a bit harsh feeling and an engine torque damper is a better solution. It basically acts like a shock absorber for motor movement allowing a more solid overal feel without the hashness of a solid torque brace.www.aerodyne.net makes their own for the FC at a good price.
