N/a to T2 swap... last minute questions

Im starting to do the conversion in the morning, but I was wondering if neone had a diagram of where all the plugs on the harness connect to. I just dont wanna mess anything up. I checked the FAQ but i dont have the program to open the PDF files so i cant check em out.

If u have pics or nething please let me know.

i read the 89-91 turbo engine emissions removal on Kevin Landers site, and before i drop my motor in tomorrow, i might take the time out and do it, but I want to keep a/c, could I remove just about everything he has listed and still keep a/c?

Im going to buy block off plates monday, so im going get rid of some of the stuff, but i would like to get rid of all that clutter on the housings.

I want to remove everything possible and still retain a/c. I will rereoute fuel lines and oil lines, i dont care.

Sorry for such a long post, but im just trying to get my point out

Also, what are the advantages/disadvantages of removing the "UIM" or what its called?

One disadvantage i see is that your engine probably wouldn't run right, or more specifically at all. UIM is the upper intake manifold. i don't think i need to say anymore

well assuming you want to remove the emissions this is a good thread

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/emissions-equipment-what-you-can-remove-how-112251/

this is basiclly all you can remove, remember s5 turbo doesnt have a egr, and if you have a s4 you can block off the omp, but you will now have to pre mix

alsoin the faq there is a write up on what all the abreveations mean

good luck on the turbo swap and congrats, you will love it

Well everyone, My motor and tranny are sitting in the engine bay and im getting ready to bolt the new rear end on 2morrow.... im so excited, but i am taking my time so that I dont mess anything up. I wanted to take some progress pics from begining to end but my friend sold his digi cam... but i will try and get some pictures for everyone soom from here on out.

I do on the other hand have a question to ask, should I buy block off plates right away, or should i keep the BACV and everything on the car to start it up for the 1st time and then remove it later? I think I should just keep it off now, but this guy told me not to. what are all of your opinions?

Miles

Ive just thought of another question to ask...... someone told me to take the OMP off of my N/A motor and put it on my T2 motor, is it a must? should I?

the only block off plate you will really need is the acv blockoff plate, if you can get it in town get it and install it (remember you will have to eliminate the air pump and you should buy a dual alternator pulley soon even though it not needed imediatly) but if you goota order the plate then just leave the acv and air pump in place just make sure all the vacuum hoses are hooked (remember when you still have the acv it has a vacuum hose that goes to the pressure sensor) if i was you i would not elominate the bacv because then you leave room for idle problems and this is a headache you dont need cause nothing is gained by removing it, and you dont need to put your omp pump off the n/a on the turbo ( i didnt)

hope this helps, good luck

thanks for the help man....

Also, can I interchange the BACV from the N/A and put it on the T2? Because the BACV from the T2 motor, one of the pieces broke off where a hose connects to, and I cant even get a hose on there at all.

If I think of anything else that I need to ask I will, and again, thanks for all the help so far Calio64.

No, they're not swappable.
