N/A s4 or Turbo s4

The title may sound like a no brainer but its kinda complex.

Once all is said and done ill have 5.5 grand (canada) to get a rx7 in the next month or so. I can go the route of getting a beat up s4 GXL for about 2 grand, and use the rest to paint, rims, and eventually turbo. I was wondering if it is actually worth the hassle to turbo the N/A s4, or should i just take the 5.5 and get a stock turbo?

suggestions... ideas.. comments?

turboing an N/A is a PITA, ive gathered, from reading about it. it would prolly be better in the long run to get a TII, unless the N/A was immaculate and you wanted to swap a TII engine into it.

If you're looking to have your car turbo, i would probably go for the Turbo II instead of converting an n/a to turbo. From what i've read i have to agree with Bio-Weapon that it will be a PITA. Personally i would be patient and wait until you find a TII in good condition. Don't just by the first FC you see. Take your time and look around, you never know you might find a great deal on awesome TII. Trust me, it'll be worth the wait

What I am paying to do the turbo swap.. is more than I paid for my car. Of course it's probably the cleanest S4 I have ever seen so that's why I am not even bothering to look for a turbo model.

if you dont mind me asking, how are you paying for your turbo swap?

Well the real dilema for me is that 5.5g cant really buy a great t2 around here... and if i were to spend 2g on a GXL and paint that and get some rotas... then swap all over time... the finished product would be better. I am wondering if this possible swap or turboing a NA is almost impossible to the weekend mechanic with a full toolset? Also.. i am somewhat new to rotary... i used to own a dsm with no knowledge of mechanics and now im pretty well known into the 4g63... is rotary mechanics knowledge picked up quite quick aswell or is actually a little tough?

I cant really come to a choice because both a Modded NA and a stock Turbo are both solid cars. Perhaps ill just get a s5 na and keep it NA then buy a t2 another time.
