Is this a N/a rotor i just bought?

I just bought another rotor, i was wondering why it looks slightly diff from my old one that was messed up. See pics below. The left one is my new rotor that just came in. and the right one is the old one that was destroyed. Notice the new one has 2 black holes and the old one only has one black hole with 2 smaller ones. hmm... what do u guys think. there both stamped "C".

I don't think those have anything to do with the rotor at all man... if you want to know look at the impressions on the rotor faces... if theyre different sizes/shapes then it's a different compression rotor.

those drilled spots are from balancing the rotor.

It looks to me like your new one has been machined for larger apex seals judging from the photo, are you aware of this?

The old one never had a rebuild, so the 2 drill marks dont make sens. also there both 2mm.

the "c" is the wieght of the rotor, good that it matches your old one so you will have a matched set to the other rotor assuming it wasn't rebuilt with mismatched parts. the way to tell if it is correct is by measuring the depth of the relief casting in the rotor faces. if your new one matches the old ones then you are good to go.

the relief is a bit more shallow on an n/a, those both look like S4 turbo rotors, am i correct?

I can tell they're both S4 for sure... I say measure the depth... the new one looks shallower, as in an N/A and the old one looks deeper like a turbo... but the picture is an odd angle too.

He'll be cool about it man, just make sure it's not what you ordered by measuring... Kevin said he doesn't do the teardown on almost any of the parts he sells, he pays people sometimes to part down a car... in which case someone else might have shipped you the wrong one... so it doesn't reflect directly on HIS knowledge, I'm SURE he knows what an N/A vs Turbo rotor looks like! lol

okay i checked and rechecked. i guess there both t2. god knows why the front looks somewhat diff. the impressions on the sides looks about the same. I took a peice of paper and cut it the size of the old one, then i made it fit the inside. I then put it in the new one and it seemed to be all lined up. kind of a ghetto way to chekc. but its the only way i could think of.

Kevin Landers!!!! That thief!!!

Kevin know whats going on. There was a thread 2 weeks ago about this same thing by Wankel7 (search) The two rotors looked completly different yet were both for a S4.

You have the right part.
