N/a's lsd max power handling,

i wanted to know what the max power i can put through a na lsd,, obviousely via turbo, the car has lots of wieght reduction, but it will have plenty of grip, and lots of torque from the turbo, no its not a turbo2 swap and im using my stock sport tranny, so i dont want to make a custom driveshaft for a t11 rear end, or buy an expensive t2 tranny, and driveline

thanks i know theres lots of you running lots a power through your stock rear, so lets see what hp figures your getting away with,

thanks
Paul;

That rear end can takes 300+ without any issues. Miata builders use N/A 2nd gen rear ends in high power Miata's because the RX7 unit can take it.

i am not posetive on whether or not the t2 will even bolt into an N/A carrier, can somebody clarify on that,

I would worry about the trans first and then the axles next.
I think the rear diff would be one of the last things to fail (even over the driveshaft), unless you're crazy enough to abuse it (i.e. drag launches).

T-II rear diff has a 8" ring and pinion gear.. and that is *STRONG*. I saw a FC with one and slicks run a 9.42 and OWN a Supra... 1.3 60' time!

As far as the NA, I think its a 7" gear... probably fine unless you crank up the boost too high or swap in a v8, on slicks anyway. If you stay on street tires you can probably get away with running it.

T-II rear end swaps are what the v8 guys do, and theyve also figured out how to put in the rearend of a C4 'vette or a Cobra in there, giving you all the gear choices in the world and plenty of strength.

The T-II is still VERY strong, though. v8 T-56 guys dont break them very often, exactly.

Unless you have SLICKS and serious power and sidestep the clutch, I doubt youre going to do any real damage. But yeah, a pinion snubber would help a ton.

You know, we really need a thread called "the LSD thread to end all LSD questions".

Someone should gives specs as to exactly what LSD each model had, how each LSD model works, how much hp each LSD can take, and finally what LSD's swap into what. We could put it in the faq and end all threads about LSD's

I broke my N/A limited slip, but I was using a 4 puck clutch. It probably took 20+ launches at 6000 rpm or more...

I'd worry about your stock front differential mount. Those things break all the time.
