my TII woes

ok, i am try'n to get my little batch of upgrades finished on my 87 TII (FMIC, 225 walbro, rtec7 upgrade). I also swaped in a S5 black interior into it and changed the switches around the gauge cluster for differnt S4 switches. Any way i go to hook the batt. up and as soon as it touches the 4 ways come on, i was like WTF o well somthing a lil mesed up so i ignore it, then i turn the key to the "on" position and i hear this werid huming around the area were the computer is that is in time with the 4ways, ok werid. then i try to start it but it just roles and roles and roles, doesnt even supputer. i have no idea and its starting to **** me off.

You have an s4 TII, correct?...what kind of different switches did you put in the cluster?...if you put s5 cluster switches in an s4, the wires need to be re-arranged in each connector plug in order for everything to work right. The switches and wiring ar a little bit different for each series.

ok, i'll check the fues, and i swaped the harness and switches off of my stock grey dash (s4) to my "new" black S5 one. so there should be no wiring differneces.

Eau contreire Pierre. The harness plugs are the same at the connection from cluster to main harness, but the wiring assignments are different. Just because the connectors will plug in doesn't mean everything will work. I have my FSMs in front of me for s4 and s5 and there are at least 4 wires that don't jive, depends if it is turbo, vert, or with rear wiper.
