My TII port job, need feedback. MASSIVE PICS!

Anyone got some feedback for my port job on my TII housing? or feedback on my sweet new camera?
The last 3 are the best, they are with the image stabilizer on, seems to work. The first ones are not
great since it is cloudy and I was a little shakey, havent eaten much today, hehe.

Pics are too big to even see clearly, and the cuts look rough as heck.

Might not be what you wanted to hear, sorry.

you can view the pics in separate tabs, but yeah it's inconvenient and I thought the same exact thing about the roughness, but I've only seen other peoples' ports, I haven't done any personally yet.

I havent polished it off yet, that is a rough cut done with the die grinder and a carbide bit.
Do the edges look that bad?
What about the inside, does the curve of the intake look ok?

You've never seen magnified skin have you?

Anyway those ports sure do look like a hack job. They are supposed to be smooth after porting then be polished to silky smooth.

I said they were a ROUGH CUT. I know they are supposed to be smooth. I was asking if I should take more off or if they need a more rounded cut, before I smooth it out and polished it off...

Actually, they're not supposed to be polished. By rights, they should be smoothed to ensure they're actually smooth, and then rough'd back up again. The roughness helps atomization.

The edges definetly need to be smoothed out, they've got some huge jagged spots. But the shape is not too bad. The bowls are *decent* but they just need some more work.

Keep goin'

delete those pictures, that is rude and unnecessary. You are lazy. Resize them.

OMG WE CAN SEE THE PORTS!

Your pentax k10D is good but be smart on the forums with it. Your pictures are 1mb each... these are 9k each...... seriously...

This is the first cut, I should have been more clear if the first place. I used a rough carbide bit, just to get most of the metal out. I am going to go back and smooth them out with different bits and make them cleaner.

What I was looking for were tips on what I should keep an eye on while going to step 2 and so on. THIS IS NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT!!!

BTW I thought that I resized the pictures to 1600x1200, but I not noticed that they are original size. I didnt click the right button on the website while uploading them. Sorry for being rude to everyone. I guess you should be glad I converted them to jpeg and didnt try and upload the RAW format pictures, they are 18MB a piece.

Yeah! And use a nonstick pan when you scramble eggs! The crunchy skin part is gross!

Water jackets

Just keep going and keep smoothing. I can't really tell but it looks like they could stand to be back-cut a little more. Nothing to really say, they just need more finesseing.

Looks like you got into the oil oring circle too much there, but they might be okay.

BDC does the best portwork of probably anyone out there, but honestly ports don't need to be that smooth. Some would debate that mirror smooth ports are actually DETRIMENTAL to power output. The difference is negligible either way, and so I choose to take the shorter route out and leave them slightly rough. This is one reason I generally don't port the tubular part of the runner out to the edge of the iron, because the intake manifold isn't being ported either, and the rough casting can actually benefit fuel atomization.

The yellow outline shows where the original port was on the intermediate housing. The yellow arrows are where the porting template from racing beat didnt quite match up to the original. Is this common? Should I leave it the way it is, or try and go out to the oil oring?

In the second picture, you can see where the oil oring, it isnt that close to the port.

Jesus christ on a pogo stick... DELETE THE PHOTOS! I have a huge screen and high resolution and its STILL gigantic.. wtf.

About your ports... you need to smooth out those sharp edges a little too. Maybe round off the lip under the corner seal path in the intake runner. You should buy the mazdatrix porting dvd.. good stuff.
